Studies show that doing the right exercises before surgery can boost knee strength and function, making your post-op rehab smoother and faster. In fact, research has found that prehab improves knee performance and even increases your chances of getting back to sport sooner.

Early Stage Rehab

Once surgery is behind you, the early stages of rehab are all about rebuilding your body’s capacity and laying the groundwork for a safe return to sport. Our online physio team guides you through this critical phase, focusing on restoring mobility, strength, and movement quality.
We start with targeted exercises to rebuild stability and muscle function, then gradually introduce controlled plyometrics and sport-specific movements to prepare your knee for the demands of training and competition. Every step is monitored and adapted by our expert physios, ensuring you progress safely, efficiently, and with confidence.
With structured guidance, personalised programming, and real-time support, we help you regain strength and resilience—getting you ready to take the next step in your ACL recovery journey. Once you pass your early-phase testing, you’ll progress into the next stage of rehab, where a new rehab lead—specialised for that phase—will guide your program, keeping your recovery on track and performance-focused.
Mid Stage Rehab

Once you’ve rebuilt your foundational strength and mobility, the mid-stage of rehab focuses on developing power, endurance, and dynamic control. Our team works with you to safely increase the load and intensity of your exercises, introducing more complex movements and sport-specific drills.
This phase is about teaching your knee and body to handle real-world forces, refine movement patterns, and prepare for the high demands of training and competition. Plyometrics, agility drills, and controlled change-of-direction exercises are carefully introduced and progressed under expert supervision.
Every program is tailored to your sport, goals, and progress, ensuring that as you advance, you’re building not just strength, but resilience and confidence in your knee. Successful completion of mid-stage rehab sets the stage for the final return-to-sport phase, where performance-focused specialists guide you back to peak condition.
Late Stage Rehab

At this point, your focus shifts to high-intensity, sport-specific drills, advanced strength, agility, and reactive training—all designed to prepare your knee for the demands of competition.
Working closely with a rehab lead specialised in late-stage return-to-play programming is key. They guide you in unlocking training restrictions, progressively increasing your workload, and building confidence in your movements. This personalised support ensures that every drill, every minute on the pitch, and every return-to-play decision is safe, structured, and performance-driven.

Who's Our ACL Rehab Program For?
There's no minimum criteria to be supported by our ACL specialists!
We work with a diverse population, returning recreational & high performance athletes back to sport.
For youth athletes, we ask for a parent / guardian to be in the rehab group.

When should I start the program?
We recommend starting as soon as possible following your ACL injury. There's huge benefits to pre-operative training, from restoring a quite knee, accelerating your early stage rehabilitation, getting to know your rehab lead and having us to hand to prep for your surgery!
Addressing any potential ACL associated injury mechanics so you're 'loading not learning' in your rehab is invaluable to a smooth rehab journey.

How long is the program?
The recommended time given to ACL rehab, from surgery to sport is 9-12 months, and this is the length the average athlete stays with us, removing all psychological barriers and safely passing our ACL return to play criteria.
For peace of mind, theres no minimum commitment to the program, working on a cancel anytime monthly subscription.

How much support do I get within the program?
Our support is unrivalled. We've broken down the walls of traditional rehab to bring 24/7 support with your very own rehab WhatsApp group. Ontop of this, you'll have at minimum 2 ACL experts in your group to support your journey.
Ontop of this you'll have weekly check-ins, all video reviews being actioned within 24 hours, and access to various supporting resources.
